Benidorm: What to do when you get there?
Coastal Mediterranean city located in the Province of Alicante in the heart of Costa Blanca. Known as the "New York of the Mediterranean", Benidorm is the city with more skyscrapers in Spain. The coastal city has the most high-rise buildings per capita in the world and per square meter in the world after New York.
Due to its grand architecture, culture and beaches it is considered one of the most important touristic places in Spain and the Mediterranean. It has sun all year round and incredible weather, allowing travellers to take full advantage of the great and thrilling activities in the city.
As great seafaring town, Benidorm offers an endless variety of water sports: sailing, kitesurfing, kayaking, cable skiing or scuba diving.
Immerse yourself in a world of possibilities! If you dare, you can practice water skiing, mono skiing, figure or the highlight of the day: wakeboard, on a platform located on the beach Levante. This is the oldest and first ever cable ski school in Europe that is located in the sea!
Dive in to the Mediterranean waters of Benidorm. It seabed is characterized by bright golden sand and lush seagrass meadows. The coastal city with its caves forming a varied landscape that is home to different colourful species.
Some of the most impressive diving routes are La Llosa, a sunken mountain with an apex of about -7 metres. Punta Garbi an underground wall of -8 metres with numerous cracks and balconies with upholstered ceilings orated by yellow anemones!
Not everything is sea and water sports… due to its mountainous terrain, you can also enjoy trekking or mountain biking through the Natural Park of Sierra Helada. This happens to be the first shoreline park in Valencia, rising majestically behind the Mediterranean. You can pedal to get to Albir lighthouse or head out to Punta del Cavall.
