Mont-rebei Gorge: What to do when you get there?

Mont-Rebei Gorge is a steep canyon located between the provinces of Huesca and Lleida. The natural border between the two areas is formed by the narrowest part of the Noguera Ribagorzana River, traversing the Montsec Range.

The 600 hectares territory is a place of undoubted ecological value for its Mediterranean & sub-Mediterranean flora and fauna, with endemic and rare species and wildlife like the Golden Eagle.

As one of the most spectacular routes in Catalonia, the spot is a favourite amongst trekkers and kayakers because travellers can combine this two and enjoy of a full day in the dreamy location.

Roam around to discover the suspension bridges that cross through the cliffs or the hermitage of Pertusa, a small shrine located on the top of a rocky ledge over the dam of Canelles. Enjoy the exceptional views of the Montsec summits and all Congost de Mont-rebei.

About Kayak & Trek Congosto Tour in Mont-Rebei Gorge.
We did a half-day trip with kayak plus trekking in Mont-Rebei. It was a perfect adventure for our family with two 10-year-old boys.

About Trekking and kayaking excursion in the Canelles Reservoir near Lerida.
Great kayaking activity with gorgeous views. The hike however did not take us to the stairs nor the precipices. This was disappointing when the pictures of the precipices are displayed in the hike info. The hike is only recommended for avid hikers cause it's really tough.

We had a beautiful day and enjoyed the experience and trek very much. A small cup of tea plus little cake would be nice after the cold kayaking. also - we did not know we had to bring food and water with us, luckily i brought sandwiches and water. Otherwise, we would starve...

About Kayaking excursion the Gorge of Mont-Rebei, near Lleida.
Not enough time to enjoy. Not easy for beginners. We were late for 40 min. We had to paddle hard to get the meeting point and had no time to enjoy the beauty around us. Only on the way back with boat we could see how beautiful is the canyon.
