Tromsø is a vibrant city in the north of Norway, serving as a gateway to the mystical Arctic. It is situated on the beautiful Tromsøya island, surrounded by dramatic fjords and mountains. On this reindeer feeding excursion from Tromsø, you will travel to an authentic Sami camp outside of the city.

The trip begins at the starting point in Tromsø city, where you'll be greeted by the experienced guide. You'll board a comfortable bus for your 25-minute transfer to the cosy reindeer camp. Upon arrival, the mighty herd of over 300 magical reindeer will come to say hello! The reindeer herders will help you feed the beautiful animals, teaching you their importance in Sami culture.

After interacting with the reindeer, you'll gather inside a traditional lavvu (Sami tent) for a delicious meal of 'bidos' (reindeer stew). As you warm up around the campfire with hot drinks and cookies, you'll learn more about the Sami people, the indigenous group of Scandinavia. They have a rich cultural heritage deeply connected to nature. Reindeer herding is a central practice and livelihood of the Sami people. After hearing stories about their traditions and rituals, you'll also get to watch a time-honoured joik performance! Joiking is a unique form of song, often likened to a musical meditation. At the end of the Sami reindeer visit in Tromsø, you'll be transferred back to the starting point in the city.

Immerse yourself in the fascinating way of life of the Sami people on this reindeer feeding trip in Tromsø!

Très beau moment passé avec les rennes ! Excursion faite le matin dans un cadre vaste et magnifique avec vue sur le fjord ! J’avais des doutes mais c’est à faire sans hésiter avec ou sans enfant.
