Between history, culture and nature, Port-Louis is a city not to be missed during a trip to Mauritius. You will experience a real immersion in the Mauritian culture! One of the first things to do in Port-Louis is to go to its central market: more than 200 years old, you can find everything there! Clothing, food, decoration, etc., it is the ideal place to buy your souvenirs, but also to taste local dishes like dholl puri. And if your thirst for shopping is still not satisfied, don't hesitate to pass by the Caudan Waterfront where you will find many stores and restaurants along the marina. A walk is a must!

This will be the time for history lovers to take an interest in the various museums of Port-Louis: the Blue Penny Museum, the Mauritius Natural History Museum, the Post Office Museum, etc., you will have plenty to visit! As far as sports activities are concerned, there are mainly two things to do in Port-Louis: scuba diving, especially from the beach of Bain des Dames where it is possible to enjoy superb views of the ocean at sunset; as well as hiking on the peaks overlooking the capital. Between Le Pouce (811 m), Pieter Both (820 m) and the mountain of Signals which is accessible to all, you will have the choice between different hiking trails offering equally different itineraries, with superb panoramas on the coast and Port-Louis as a reward for the summits!
