Practical information
A full-day experience including a 45-minute to 1-hour hike with sled dogs and a 1.5-hour visit to the Tracés Sauvages kennel.
- Welcome to the Tracés Sauvages musher's barn in Oloron-Sainte-Marie
- For around 45 minutes, presentation of the pack and the activity, with dogs allocated to participants according to their character, size, etc.
- Briefing on safety instructions and equipment set-up
- Departure for a 45-minute to 1-hour walk with the sled dogs in the Bager forest
- Back to the barn, the dogs are stripped and cared for for around 20 minutes (hydration, brushing, photos and final discussions with the musher)
- Lunch break (at your own expense - you can take a picnic lunch with you or go to a nearby restaurant )
- At 3 p.m., discover for 1.5 hours the history of sled dogs and meet the musher's pack to learn all about these incredible animals
- Debriefing and end of the activity
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
This activity is not accessible to people with motor disabilities, and is not recommended for people with knee or back problems (must be indicated when booking).
Pets are not permitted to join in this activity.
Young children (aged between 2 and 6) will take part in the hike with sled dogs aboard a Sulky pulled by a dog (maximum 66 lbs/30 kg aboard a Sulky).
If you would like 2 adults (aged 14 and over) with the same dog during the hike, please book x1 "Duo".
