The Viboli Canyon is one of the most challenging ravines in Asturias, this adventure into the unknown will have you working as a team to navigate vertiginous rappels, belly flipping jumps and test your technical rope skills, too!
Viboli Gorge is situated in Picos de Europa National Park. Part of the Asturias region of northern Spain, this 18m section is crafted by the Carangas River in the Beyos Pass. A category III canyon it is close to the towns of Cangas de Onis and Arriondas.
Viboli Gorge is considered a category III canyon that requires previous experience and knowledge of rope work. This section of the Viboli includes several rappels, high jumps, and physically demanding footwork. The full duration in the canyon is between 4 ½ and 5 hours.

Practical information
Meet your mountain guide at the activity base in Arriondas for this canyoning excursion in Viboli Gorge. A half day excursion suited to experienced gorge walkers and mountaineers alike, this gorge in Picos de Europa National Park starts with a short walk (5min) from your transfer to the start of the canyon wall. From here you will work with the lead guide to rappel into deep ravines, abseil down waterfalls, jump into freshwater pools and use your body to slide across an obstacle course of natural toboggans.
Demanding yet refreshingly rewarding, there will be lots of scrambling, swimming and tombstoning – putting your rope work to good use as you lean back and embrace the unknown! Reserved for experienced adults who can self-belay, once you have completed this challenging section of Viboli Gorge, you will return on foot to your transport (10min), where you will be shuttled back to the activity base for a hot shower and light refreshments.
Previous experience necessary - over 18's only.
