PADI Discover Scuba Dive from Plettenberg Bay

Have you ever wondered what it is like to breathe underwater? Go on your very first Discovery Dive on the South African coast! Not only will this day teach you the foundations to scuba diving in the safe waters of the swimming pool, but it will culminate with a sea dive alongside the diverse marine life of the Plettenberg Bay area.

Your 4-hour day follows the official PADI Discover Scuba Diving Course. One of ProDive's certified instructors will give you a brief lecture on the basic safety rules of scuba diving. Learn how to use the scuba equipment, the foundational hand signs to use underwater, and what to do in cases of emergency. Then, it will be off to the pool to get more familiar with the equipment in the water. Practice breathing underwater, leveling your buoyancy, and taking off your mask underwater so that you are prepared for any situation when it's time to hit the open water.

Once you are totally comfortable with the swimming pool, it will finally be time to head to the open ocean to become one of the many marine mammals of Plettenberg Bay! Once your cylinders are recharged, you will head out with the guide to explore the beautiful reefs of Plettenberg, wading through the wonderful wildlife of South Africa's coastline. There is no place more idyllic than here to be initiated into scuba diving!
