At the heart of this incredible area and surrounded by unlimited fun things to do, Plettenberg Bay is a quaint seaside town particularly known for whale watching!

With Ocean Blue Adventures, you will have the opportunity to see two types of whales during their season between June and November: the Southern Right Whales in Plettenberg Bay itself, and a little further outside the bay, Humpback whales who travel along the coastline! There is no better feeling than seeing these incredible and gigantic creatures frolicking in their natural habitat. After an exciting boat launch from the shore and through the surf, as you relax comfortably on board your whale watching boat in Plettenberg Bay, you will have the chance to watch in awe as whales breach the water in a playful arc, or swim side by side with their calf. You will also get to have a closeup look of a large cape-fur seal colony and enjoy the wheeling flight of a variety of seabirds.

Being one of the first South African whale watching companies to receive a government permit, Ocean Blue Adventures is proud to be able to hold this specialist permit that allows them to carefully approach whales up to 50m in Plettenberg Bay and offer guests an unparalleled whale viewing opportunity. Ocean Blue Adventures is passionate about the ocean and of whales – not only will their informative guides share their deep knowledge of whales with you during the boat tour, but they also take every precaution to follow ethical whale watching regulations. Nice trip. Did not see a lot of whales though. We had fun and the guide was fun. Booking was a bit odd. We choose 08:30 and got a different time slot but that did not show in the email. We could not call them.
