Paragliding is the calmest and safest form of free flying known to man. A tandem flight is always performed with an experienced paragliding instructor pilot, and the True Adventure Pilots have the highest professional qualifications and years of experience behind them.

Once you are at the take-off location, the pilots will perform safety checks and brief you on what’s expected. When you are ready for take-off, your pilot will inflate the wing, and you will both take a few steps down a hill until you’re in the air.

Now is the time to sit back and enjoy the fantastic view! Icelandic landscapes are second to none, so take the time to appreciate the scenery, as you’ll be living a once-in-a-lifetime moment. The adventurers amongst you can even ask to steer the glider with the help of your instructor or experience the thrill of aerobatics!

After you get to the meeting point, a member of the True Adventure team will drive you up to the take-off location most suitable for the current weather conditions. A few excellent spots around Vik allow you to enjoy the superb views of the area. It also provides flexibility, allowing your instructor to choose a suitable location depending on the weather so you don’t miss your chance of flying safely and enjoyably.

Once you’re at the take-off spot, you’ll have a briefing during which you will be taken through the flight details and given an explanation about the equipment and safety procedures. After a safety check, you’re ready to take off! Now you’ll run a few steps down a gentle slope, and it’s time to sit back and enjoy your flight! Depending on your desire, abilities, weather conditions and the area you’re flying, your instructor might let you handle the controls during the flight. If you want to relax and admire the scenery, that’s OK too; the main objective is to have a good time.

Photography: Your pilot will be equipped with a high-definition video camera from which you can get photos and videos. You only need to order the additional HD video + photo package!

My fiancé and I got married in Iceland and started our honeymoon by paragliding off of a cliff overlooking Vik! This is definitely a bucket list activity! We had never paraglided before, so we were a tad bit nervous. But once we got to the top and after take off it was so calm gliding around the top. We loved this activity and I hope everyone does this at least once in their lives!
