Patmos is a small Greek island located in the Aegean Sea. Besides its UNESCO heritage sites, Patmos offers unique underwater landscapes and hosts pristine Mediterranean ecosystems like Posidonia meadows, coralligenous formations, impressive reefs, walls, underwater passages, caves and wrecks!

This SSI Open Water diver course is open to everyone, no previous diving experience is needed. To start, you’ll meet the guide at the dive centre in Patmos. The course generally takes 3-5 days, with approximately 3 hours per day. You’ll start with theory and learn about the scuba diving equipment (fins, mask, wetsuit, regulators, Bcd, tank and weights). The passionate instructor will teach you the basics of diving, the safety preparations required, and the use of scuba gear.

The course includes 5 training dives in open water. You will learn at exciting dive sites in the Bay of Patmos. The crystal-clear waters offer excellent visibility conditions for diving and the island has a multitude of dive sites suitable for all experience levels. With guidance from the certified instructor, you’ll practice diving beneath the surface and explore the impressive underwater reefs of Patmos. You’ll likely spot some diverse marine life, including colourful fish, sea turtles, sea sponges and corals. At the end of the course, you’ll receive your SSI Open Water diver certification, which is recognised worldwide.
