Do your first caving exploration in the Vicdessos cave, near Tarascon-sur-Ariège, and admire an underground river!
Located in Val-de-Sos, the Vicdessos cave allows you to live an accessible underground adventure, whether with family or friends. Only 30 minutes from Foix and 20 minutes from Tarascon-sur-Ariège, it offers an exploration to an underground river of the region: expect a unique first caving experience!
This caving trip in the Vicdessos cave is done in about 2.5 hours crossing, that is to say that you will enter and exit by two different places. The beginning of the exploration is vertical, with a sequence of 3 descents of wells, the highest of which is 10 meters. You will then progress in a pretty meander with very playful passages before arriving at the underground river of Vicdessos.
Your instructor will then tell you about the wonderful work of water underground (erosion, concretion, etc.), then you will leave for the last part of the cave which is the most aquatic! 3 descents of small waterfalls await you and will allow you to reach the exit where the underground river joins the river of the valley.
