Canyon of Artigue, Ariège

The canyon of Artigue is one of the most beautiful in Ariege and one of the most popular routes in the Pyrenees. It’s the ideal mountain canyon, sunny and as fun as you want it to be!

Your outing is guaranteed to be a day to remember facing summits of 3000 metres, next to the Spanish border, the Montcalm (3077m) and la Pique d’Estat (3143m).

This canyon is both aquatic and vertically challenging with a series of jumps, long slides and abseils that get more and more fun. This fun and convivial group initiation has no aspects of real difficulty with the exception of the 40 minute walk to the canyon itself. However, this canyon would be especially enjoyed by mountain and water lovers!

Programme:
-You will be welcomed with a hot drink or fruit juice and each member of the group will quickly present themselves
- After which your instructor will tell you more about the activity of the day and the equipment you will be using
- Once you’re onsite you will be given a more detailed presentation on canyoning techniques
- You will then descend with a quick succession of jumps (up to 10 metres high, but these are optional), abseils (20 metres maximum) and giant zip-lines (25 metres long) then swimming and lots of small slides (8 metres maximum).
- Once you’re back at the centre you will have a drink with the group and share your first impressions of your taster of canyoning.
- You will then be given your Canyoner Card and manual of 50 pages to celebrate the successful completion of your outing.
