Course of events
- Meeting with the guide in front of the Ice Cave Bistrot in Vík
- 40-minute drive by super jeep to the Kötlujökull glacier and Katla Ice Cave
- Briefing on cave visit and equipment
- Guided tour of the ice cave with free time to explore for around 40 minutes in total
- Short walk around the cave to see if it is possible to visit another small cave that has formed nearby
- Return by super jeep to Vík (approx. 40-minute journey)
Activity requirements
It is very important to wear warm clothing, preferably waterproof, and good hiking boots so that you can enjoy the excursion to the full.
