Mountain biking trip in the Atlas mountains, near Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil - Imi 'Oughelad
Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil. You will start your journey with a climb! Not a tough one, but good enough to put pressure on the pedals to make sure everything is working. At the top of the pass (2300m) you will stop for a mint tea and biscuits before heading for the first real singletrack through the villages of Tacheddirt, Tamguist and Amssakrou. This is a good, flowing singletrack for a couple of hours which will end at a riverbed for lunch. After a good, long and lazy lunch, you will be ready to take off again. A short climb turns into a single-track descent. At the end of this technical singletrack descent, we’ll stop at Imi Oughelad where you will spend the night in a berber guesthouse.

Day 2: Imi’oughelad - Asni – Id Aissa - Ouirgane
After breakfast you will leave Imi Oughelad following a sandy road that climbs steadily and full zigzags. You will enjoy a very nice view over the Ait Mizan valley as well as the neighboring valleys and all the small passes on the way up. You will continue to the Tacht pass where you will stop for drinks and some nuts. You will then keep riding along the Azzaden valley on dirt roads passing through several villages to get to Tizi Oussem. It is possible to extend this ride if anyone wants to. You will spend the night at a guest house.

Day 03: Ouirgane – Amizmiz - Marrakech
This day is dedicated to singletrack. The guest house is located at nearly 1800 m in altitude and today is the day to 'cash in' on the altitude! This path links to three or four villages that you will ride across from one side to the other. There are a couple of little climbs of 300-400 m which lead you to incredibly fast sections. You will stop for lunch in a secluded wooded part of the riverbed where mint tea is waiting for your arrival. After lunch you will ride to Asni, the end of your MTB trip. You will then be transferred to Marrakech.
