Northern Lights Snowshoeing Excursion from Kiruna

Join an exciting snowshoeing excursion beneath the awe-inspiring Northern Lights through the Swedish wilderness from Kiruna. Welcoming participants from ages 12 and up on this family-friendly adventure!

Kiruna is the northernmost city of Sweden, located right beside the Arctic Circle in the historical Lapland region. During the winter months, the distinct landscapes, forests and mountains transform into a white wonderland. Like most other places situated in the north, it is also a prime location for witnessing the amazing Northern Lights!

You will begin your adventure by being picked up from your accommodation in Kiruna (please specify your location when booking). The experienced guide will greet you and go through a safety briefing. After receiving your equipment (snowshoes, poles, and a headlamp), you will set off on your evening adventure!

Following your guide, you will walk in your snowshoes into the magical Arctic night. The lights from the starry sky and moon will create a peaceful, glowy atmosphere. As you trek through the snowy forest, you will experience true peace. If you're lucky, the mesmerising Aurora Borealis will appear in the sky above you. In this remote location away from the lights of the city, the dance of colours should be prominent.

Midway through the excursion, you will pause to admire the Northern Lights while enjoying a drink of hot berry juice. The guide will share facts and folklore about this mesmerising natural phenomenon. Don't forget your camera to capture some wonderful images! After the tour, you will return to your pick-up point in Kiruna.
