Join an all-inclusive trip to the beautiful West Sweden archipelago in Bohuslän, combining sea kayaking and camping in nature. Welcoming adventures from ages 15 and up on this 2-night, 3-day excursion!
Bohuslän is a province situated on the western coast of Sweden. It is known for its stunning archipelago, picturesque coastal towns, and granite cliffs. In addition to its natural beauty and maritime culture, Bohuslän has a rich history, with archaeological sites dating back to the Stone Age. It is home to a vast archipelago, one of Sweden's most iconic and beautiful coastal areas. It consists of thousands of islands, islets, and skerries scattered along the rugged coastline.
This trip includes a 2-night stay camping in the natural areas around Bohuslän. You’ll start the excursion by meeting the experienced guide at the starting point in Uddevalla, a town situated on the western coast of Bohuslän. The guide will provide all of the necessary gear, including the kayak equipment (kayak, paddle, cockpit cover and life jacket) and camping equipment (cooking and eating utensils, 2-man camping tent, sleeping mat and a therm-a-rest-chair). All of the meals for the trip will also be included (please specify any dietary restrictions upon booking).
You should make sure to bring appropriate clothing (quick-drying synthetic or woollen shirt, bathing trunks, wind jacket) and shoes (water-resistant sandals, neoprene shoes or Crocs) for paddling, as well as a warm change of clothes (hat and warm fleece), toiletries (including sunscreen and insect repellent), a swimsuit and towel, and your own snacks and alcoholic drinks if you wish. You don’t need any prior kayaking experience to take part in this excursion. Once everyone has arrived, the guide will transfer you to the starting point of this adventure!
There are several beautiful sites in the area that you may visit, depending on the time of year. Havstenssund archipelago is a hidden sea kayaking jewel on the coast. This stunning archipelago is divided by the islands Trossö, Kalvö and Lindö. To the east of the islands lies a sheltered inner archipelago with sandy beaches and vegetated islands. Another destination is Koster Sea Marine National Park – Sweden’s only marine national park. You’ll paddle through a maze of islands, visit Sweden’s westernmost lighthouse and glide around the home of six thousand marine species.
You may also visit the Fjällbacka archipelago, another amazing coastal area with smooth, polished, gleaming red granite islands, sandy beaches, charming wooden houses and picturesque small fishing communities. The final destination you may visit is Käringön and Gullholmen, two well-known island communities. From this location, you can discover Hermanö’s diverse and magnificent coastal scenery and Vallerös's stunning sandy beaches.
Each day, you’ll kayak in the scenic location, discovering the maritime charm that the archipelago has to offer. The guide will share fascinating insights about the flora and fauna, while you search for sea creatures such as seals and seabirds. In the evenings, you’ll stay at one of the vegetated islands or idyllic beaches, camping in the wild and feeling at one with nature! The guide will prepare delicious meals over a campfire, while you watch the mesmerising sunset in the west. On the third day, you’ll return to the starting point in Uddevalla in the late afternoon.
This immersive kayaking and camping experience in the beautiful authentic nature of Bohuslän’s archipelago is an idyllic way to spend time in Western Sweden!
