Villalba de la Sierra is a small town serving as the gateway into the Serrania de Cuenca located 2 hours east of Madrid and only 25 min. away from Cuenca. In the entrance to the mountains, the Jucar Canyon awaits you for your canyoning introduction.
The Jucar Canyon in Cuenca is an easy canyon that will allow you to have a lot of fun as you sort the obstacles that nature will put you. This canyon is known for its natural water slides and huge rocks that will serve as diving platforms!
The Jucar is perfect for a canyoning introduction and also welcomes adventurers of any age, including children! Since you'll be supervised by Yurok Adventures' guides, you'll be in complete safety!
After meeting your guide in Villalba de la Sierra early in the morning, you'll head on to Ventana del Diablo (Devil's Window), a viewpoint that will grant you a panoramic view of the mountains, simply stunning!
Then, you'll get geared up with all necessary canyoning equipment including neoprene wetsuit and a helmet. There, you'll also be explained how your first canyoning experience will happen and all safety measures in order for you to stay safe.
After everyone is ready, you'll have a short hike towards the entrance of the Jucar Canyon. Once you've reached its entrance, you'll get ready to make your way down this amazing canyon by any means necessary. In canyoning, you'll need to walk, jump, slide, swim and even abseil down waterfalls so you can make it to the end!
The Jucar Canyon is an aquatic canyon filled with jumps into pools, natural slides and abseils down waterfalls! This canyon guarantees excitement and lots of water, so don't forget to bring your swimsuit and shoes that you don't mind getting wet!
