Challenge the heights with the Via Ferrata Peñas Juntas in the Sierra de Guara!
In the south of the Pyrenees, in the region of Huesca, we find the Sierra de Guara, the largest protected natural area of Aragon with 80 000 hectares, which extends from Abiego to Sabiñánigo. The Sierra de Guara is mainly known for canyoning, as its canyons such as the Petit Mascún canyon are a reference throughout Europe. But don't worry if this sport doesn't arouse your interest, because the Sierra de Guara offers a wide range of outdoor activities such as hiking routes or a wide variety of via ferratas.
In the town of Bierge, 40 minutes from Huesca and 1 hour from Lleida, you will find the Via Ferrata Peñas Juntas, which runs above the river Isuala. It is a via ferrata of 200 metres and difficulty K1, the lowest level, perfect for families as well as for people who have never done one before. A simple via ferrata, but very beautiful and fun, as you will cross the Isuala River over Tibetan bridges up to 25 metres long. But that's not all, in the second section you will climb to the top of Peñas Juntas, from where you will enjoy incredible views of the whole mountain range! A short, intense and accessible activity for everyone during which safety is guaranteed thanks to the instructors of Awa Aventura who will provide you with all the necessary equipment and will guide you along the route.
