Private Snowshoeing in Sierra de Guadarrama National Park, Madrid. The perfect outdoor activity to enjoy with your family, partner or friends.
Every winter, the white blanket that falls on the mountains means that we need "something" to help us walk and not sink... for this we will use snowshoes, with which we can walk without any problem through one of the most beautiful areas of the Sierra de Guadarrama.
The conditions of the Sierra, cooler and more humid than the plateaus, and its lesser transformation by human activity, have turned these mountains into a privileged refuge of biodiversity. Its physical environment includes glacial cirques and lagoons and granite rocky outcrops; its vegetation includes high mountain ecosystems and extensive pine forests.
Get to know the slopes of Siete Picos and the Pinares de Valsaín with a qualified guide.

Practical information
The meeting point will be our rural tourism centre located in Puerto de Navacerrada. When the whole group has arrived, we will distribute the necessary equipment (snowshoes and poles), and the guide will give some initial notions of technique and safety.
The route is circular, and may vary depending on weather conditions, although in general it follows the Schmid Way up to Siete Picos. Halfway along the route, more or less, there will be a short stop to rest and regain strength, and if the weather is good, to admire the marvellous views we have from the top.
On the way back to the starting point, we will try out our snowshoes on virgin snow, where we will be able to test the usefulness of snowshoes when progressing over snowy terrain.
