Hoz Somera canyon in Cañamares near Cuenca

The Serrania de Cuenca is the outdoor enthusiast spot near Madrid. There, numerous canyons of different levels of difficulty are located. Cañamares is a small town less than an hour drive from Cuenca.

A few kilometers from Cañamares, the Hoz Somera canyon will give you that adrenaline fix you are looking for! This canyon is known for its succession of abseils that guarantee that will get your heart pumping, the longest of them is 15 m. long!

Although you'll need to abseil, the canyon remains an easy canyon that will allow you to have a lot of fun as you sort the obstacles that nature will put you. Since you'll be supervised by Yurok Adventures' guides, you'll be in complete safety!

After meeting your guide in the Cañamares campsite, you'll get geared up with all necessary canyoning equipment including neoprene wetsuit and a helmet. There, you'll also be explained how your first canyoning experience will happen and all safety measures in order for you to stay safe.

After everyone is ready, you'll have an hour-long hike towards the entrance of the Hoz Somera Canyon. Once you've reached its entrance, you'll get ready to make your way down this amazing canyon by any means necessary. In canyoning, you'll need to walk, jump, slide, swim and even abseil down waterfalls so you can make it to the end!
