The Palmiet River tumbles through the Fynbos covered mountains of the Kogelberg Nature Reserve, just outside Kleinmond, about an hour's drive from Cape Town. This pristine natural environment forms the backdrop to this Palmiet River excursion.
A friendly stream during the summer months, this day trip provides a chilled float down this beautiful river, with a few small rapids in between.

Practical information
Tubing down the Palmiet River for around 4 hours, including class 1 to 4 rapids depending on the water level.
- Meeting with the team in front of the reception of the Kogelberg Nature Reserve
- Fitting of rafting equipment (wetsuit - not supplied, helmet and life jacket)
- Approach walk to the edge of the Palmiet River
- Buoys launch with a briefing on the activity and safety instructions
- Departure for approximately 4 hours of tubing on the Palmiet River, through class 1 to 4 rapids depending on the water level
- Return to the meeting point, de-equipping and end of the activity

All participants must know how to swim to take part in this activity.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
A minimum number of 7 participants is required to run this activity.
This activity is not recommended for pregnant people.
It is your responsibility to make sure you have any personal medication with you (e.g. asthma puffers, allergy medication, etc.).
Please note this option does not include the CapeNature Conservation fee, which is currently R40.00 per adult. It is payable at the reserve reception, but if you have a WildCard or are staying on the reserve, you do not need to pay it.
