The adventure begins at the meeting point in the centre of Voss. You will meet your experienced guide, who will take you through the itinerary for the day. Before setting off, you will dress in warm Arctic clothing (extra clothing or snow boots are available if you need them). Your guide will also provide all of the equipment for snowshoeing (snowshoes, ski poles and goggles) and take you through a safety briefing. No previous experience is needed, this non-technical trip is suitable for all levels. The tour group is small and personalised, with a maximum of 6 participants, to ensure a dedicated and specialised experience.

Then, you will travel together to the start of the Voss Gondola, a modern and stable cable car which travels between Voss Railway Station and Hangurstoppen. This trip offers an amazing panoramic view of the mountains surrounding Voss. You will travel up the Gondola to Mount Hanguren, 820 meters above sea level, exiting straight into the cool, crisp mountain scenery.

Once you arrive on the mountain, the snowshoe adventure begins! The guide will take you across the easy terrain and through the beautiful scenery. The forest offers plenty of opportunities for children to play in the snow or slide down small slopes in the deep snow. It is also quite common to encounter wild animals or their tracks, including grouse, hare, snow mice or foxes. Midway through you will take a break to build a roaring campfire. The guide will share tips and tricks for surviving in the wilderness, such as how to make a fire with only one match, or how to prepare a meal in nature. A locally sourced meal will be cooked on the fire for you to enjoy, while taking in the peacefulness and silence of the remote location. You will then travel back through the frozen landscape to the comfortable Gondola, and return to the starting point.
