Paddle along Norway's longest rafting excursion, beginning in the Murudalen Valley and parkouring the entire length of the Sjoa River! Experienced rafters only.
Paddle along Norway's longest whitewater rafting excursion, beginning in the Murudalen Valley and parkouring the entire length of the Sjoa River until it joins the Gudbrandsdalslågen river some 30 km (18.6 miles) downstream.
The Sjoa River flows through an abundance of beautiful landscapes, from the beautiful Murudalen Valley to the hard-of-access Åsengjuvet gorge, before joining the Gudbrandsdalslågen River, where the rafting journey ends. During this adrenaline-filled excursion, you'll encounter many exciting rapids along the way.
The itinerary changes slightly depending on the water level. However, on normal days, you can expect a 15 km (9 miles) rafting excursion before breaking for lunch. Once replenished, the more challenging half of the journey begins. You will raft through the "Chocolate Canyon" gorge and descend huge rapids such as the "Washing Machine", which will get your hearts racing!
Safety comes first when it comes to rafting, so once you've arrived at the base, you will be equipped with all you need to ensure a secure time on the river. Then, an expert in rafting and the Sjoa will brief you on the essentials for a stress-free rafting experience. They will also inform you of the current water conditions. Accompanied by your guide, you'll head off for a day on the water.
Once you're all splashed out, you will be driven back to the base, where you'll be able to shower and enjoy a drink. Lunch is also included in the price, so all you need to bring are swimsuits and towels.
Parking is free at the base and there is a reception on-site for those who wish to stay a bit longer and relax with a beer or lemonade after your efforts. Everything you need for an all-around great experience by the Sjoa!
