Join an exciting climbing adventure to the summits of Øyfjellet and Storfjellet: enjoy an original workout as you safely navigate the mountains attached to a wire, take in some great panoramas of Helgeland, and end the experience with an exhilarating zipline back to Mosjøen!
Via Ferrata means "iron path". Attached to the mountainside through a sturdy wire clipped onto your harness, this activity allows you to follow a secure circuit up and around Øyfjellet, borrowing some daunting passages without the fear of falling! This via ferrata doesn't require any special knowledge or experience in climbing - discover the different obstacles as you go along and take in the incredible views as you do so! Along the way, you will get some unique bird's eye views over the River Vefsna, the nearby town of Mosjøen, and the stunning nature of Helgeland.
On the way back, instead of climbing down, you will cross to the neighbouring peak of Storfjellet. Over on this mountain is the beginning of an epic 700 m (765 yards) zipline that will take you all the way across the River Vefsna to the centre of Mosjøen. You'll land gracefully in the gardens of Fru Haugans Hotel in the historical Sjøgata Street, which you will be able to admire from an altitude of 70 m (76 yards) as you glide effortlessly down the wire. A journey to remember!
To begin the excursion, meet the crew at their base in the centre of Mosjøen. You will be given your equipment there, including a harness and helmet, before being strapped onto the wire to begin the excursion. A guide will be at your service throughout the via ferrata, as well as at the zipline, to help out with any issues and make sure you are strapped in securely. With no risk of accident, via ferrata is definitely the best way to explore the rugged sides of Øyfjellet and take in views of Helgeland like no other - discover via ferrate in northern Norway's oldest town today!
