Guided Hike in the Ourika Valley, near Marrakech

Departing from Marrakech, and more precisely from the door of your accommodation, your Morocco Sahara Desert Travel guide will be delighted to pick you up by car at around 9 a.m. to take you on a guided half-day hike in the Ourika Valley, near Marrakech.

The Ourika Valley is located 30 km southeast of Marrakech and is considered one of the valleys in the Moroccan High Atlas where the traditional mountain way of life is still preserved. During the last 45 minutes of drive from Marrakech to the last road-accessible village, Setti-Fatma, you will be looking out of your window at postcard-perfect scenery.

From the heights afforded by the Atlas Massif, you will be forced to leave the car and continue your discovery of the Ourika Valley in your hiking shoes.

Accompanied by your dedicated guide, you will discover the existence of the Ourika River, one of the tributaries of a great Moroccan river: the Oued Tensift, which ends its course in the Atlantic Ocean.

But that's not all: as the saying goes, "all work deserves its reward", your Moroccan pedestrian experience continues with a slight climb... reward in hand! Indeed, after this short (but intense) effort, your guide will take you to a local restaurant where you'll have the chance to discover Berber gastronomy.

After a well-deserved lunch break, your guided hike in the Ourika Valley will continue for a few more hours, heading back to your guide's car (well parked in the parking lot).
