The Icelandic Mountain Guides team invites you to take part in an excursion to southern Iceland from Reykjavík, where a quad bike ride on the black sand beaches near Vík í Mýrdal awaits you. After a drive of around 2 hours 20 minutes from the Icelandic capital, you will reach the team's base at the foot of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier, where the machines are waiting for you. Dressed in warm overalls and all the necessary safety equipment, you will set off on a 2-hour quad bike ride along the beach of Sólheimasandur, through some incredible scenery!

Your local guide will take you across the rivers flowing from the Mýrdalsjökull glacier to the ocean, along Sólheimasandur beach for the best views of Mýrdalsjökull and the small peninsula of Dyrhólaey near Vík, and then to the wreck of the Douglas DC-3 that has lain on the beach since 1973. You will enjoy a magical escapade, on easy-to-handle quads that will give you a good dose of adrenalin!

With stops at the Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls on the way back to Reykjavík, this trip to southern Iceland with quad biking near Vík will give you the chance to admire some magnificent scenery for a day!
