The adventure begins at the meeting point, the parking lot near the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where a certified glacier guide will greet you and your small group. After an initial safety and itinerary briefing, you'll board the 4x4 vehicle and set out on the 30-minute scenic transfer to the Vatnajökull Glacier. Upon arrival at the parking lot, you'll receive equipment including a helmet, a harness, and crampons. Next, the guide provides an introduction to glacier hiking and ice caving along with equipment usage, emphasizing both safety and fun.

Now, the fantastic journey, zip-lining and ice-caving near the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon truly starts with a 30-minute hike to the edge of the Vatnajökull Glacier on flat and sometimes rocky terrain. As you take in the incredible panoramas of the glacier, you'll arrive at the massive cavern of the 'Crystal Ice Cave' (also known as the 'Sapphire Ice Cave'). Before entering, your guide will give another safety lesson and you'll put on your crampons. While ice-caving, you'll learn how it changes in shape, size, and colour every year, naturally reforming during the summer months. In addition, they'll share fascinating facts about its composition and formation.

As your eyes adjust to the almost surreal crystal-blue walls of the ice cave, you'll truly feel as if you've arrived on another planet! While observing this breathtaking natural feature and its multiple chambers, the guide will take photos of you and the group, capturing the special moment. Outside of the Vatnajökull Glacier's 'Crystal Ice Cave', the group takes a break (make sure to bring snacks, beverages, and a packed lunch) before hiking to the Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier (an outlet of the Vatnajökull Glacier), where the zip-lining portion of the activity takes place.

Traversing the ice with your crampons gripping the glacier's surface, you'll survey the icy terrain including deep crevasses, glacier holes, and moulins and will be rewarded with a sense of accomplishment upon arriving at the zip-lining site. Once you've been hooked into the zip-line and the equipment has been double-checked, it's time to take the plunge, zip-lining across an immense glacier moulin (deep crevasse)! Securely fastened to the line, you'll have an adrenaline rush like none other as you traverse the glacier suspended in the air. Each participant has x2 zip lines per person with photos taken of each flight.

Giddy from the excitement of Vatnajökull Glacier zip-lining and ice-caving near the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, the tour resumes with a return hike to the vehicle and a transfer back to the original meeting point.
