Caving in Tintron cave in Golden Circle

Explore the underground passages of Thingvellir National Park by venturing into Tintron Cave. Located in the Golden Circle, this 27m-long cave offers the chance to observe rock formations caused by volcanic activity thousands of years ago.

On arrival at the meeting point, you will meet your expert guide, who will accompany you on this caving excursion to the Golden Circle. He'll lend you all the equipment you need (lamp, harness, helmet), then explain how the activity works and the safety instructions to be followed. You will then head for the entrance to the cave and set off for 3 hours of activity.

Your caving excursion in the Tintron cave begins with a 13-metre abseil through a hole in the ground - thrills guaranteed! You'll spend the next few hours exploring the 37m of the cave. Along the way, you'll make your way through lava tubes, admiring the red rocks and the brilliance of the crystals!

Just an hour from Reykjavik, you can stand and stoop to get close to the icicles and precious stones in the depths of the cave. Equipped with a headlamp, you'll be totally immersed in the lava tunnels and finish this activity by climbing out of the cave on a rope ladder.
