Embark on a guided kayak tour across the stunning blue waters of Kailua Bay to Moku Nui Island for an adventure of surf and sand in Kailua!

Kailua Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on Oahu! With its long stretch of soft white sand, swaying palms, and clear blue waters, it really is a Hawaiian paradise! Across the sparkling bay are the twin islands of Mokulua, including Moku Nui, a bird sanctuary that is open to visitors. During this guided kayak tour of Kailua Bay, you will have the chance to kayak to this special little island, take in the gorgeous scenery around you and the wildlife that calls it home, including sea turtles and monk seals, and go on an exploratory hike to the Queen’s Bath and its surrounding tidepools!

Before heading out on your kayaking tour across Kailua Bay, you will receive all the necessary safety and activity briefings at the Active Oahu storefront. From there, the Active Oahu team will help you get the kayaks and gear, including life vests, onto your car so that you can drive to Kailua Beach park and meet your guide. Once there, your guide will teach you how to get in and out of your kayak safely and also show you how to paddle so that you can head out into the water confidently!

During the 60-80 minutes of kayaking out to the island, for the extra adventurous among you, there will be the option of stopping at Popoi’a Island or the equally beautiful Lanikai Beach to do some snorkelling. During the kayak tour, your guide will share their knowledge about the local sea life and surrounding area, and on Moku Nui Island, they will guide your explorations. Paddling back to the beach after your time on the island, you will have an incredible view of the striking Ko'olau mountain range to accompany your return journey. Finally, once you make it back to the Active Oahu base in Kailua, you will be greeted with a fresh meal and shave ice – a Hawaiian classic – to top it all off!
