IKO Kitesurfing Courses and Lessons in Mikri Vigla, Naxos

Few schools are able to offer a professional service for kiting and Kite Centre Naxos is one of them! If you have always wondered how it feels to fly and surf at the same time over the sea, then you should learn how to kite. The experienced instructors of Kite Centre Naxos, Michele and Luciana will give you a warm welcome and stay next to you to teach you how to kitesurf or to help you improve your skills. They offer all levels of kitesurfing courses by IKO (Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3) and private courses for advanced riders to help you improve specific skills and tricks.

The courses:
You will find all the courses by IKO in order to get your certification. The courses are conducted in small groups never bigger than 3 persons. The equipment of the centre is provided by RRD Roberto Ricci Design. All the equipment is always included in the courses price. The courses are radio-assisted so you can be in constant communication with your instructor, even in water.

The IKO Kiteboarding programs are designed to help you learn in a safe way while your IKO Instructor respects your rhythm and takes you through all the steps, so you can reach your goals.

During Level 1 you will get all the basic knowledge to fly a kite in a safe way.

During Level 2 you will use all flying skills you gained in Level 1. Just make sure you wear a flotation vest and keep your helmet on because at this level you are ready to get in the water. Once you complete this programme you will start riding the board.

Level 3 is the stage where your hard work pays off, as you get to feel the board on your feet! By the end of the level 3 course, you will be able to start jumping and will truly be an independent rider. Then you are off to explore the world’s different locations, water surfaces and wind strengths!

After successfully completing Level 3 you will get your IKO certificate and you will be globally recognised as an independent kitesurfer.

The Kitesurf Paradise in Greece
The nice and sandy beach of Mikri Vigla is situated in a bay close leeward. The wind direction side-side onshore from the right (north) makes this bay a very safe place to start kitesurfing.
The strength of the wind is generated by the high pressure on the mediterranean sea during the summer (May - October) and the local tradition gives this wind the name of Meltemi.
The Meltemi starts to blow early in the morning and stops at the sunset, many times it doesn't stop even at night.
