The number of routes to explore is just huge! The resort is unrivaled in France for backcountry skiing. La Grave stretches for several kilometers and several passes, usually allowing you to find a good quality snow no matter the weather conditions.
The ski area of La Grave is, however, reserved for experienced skiers. Jody will only take people who already have an experience in backcountry skiing since you will have to adapt to unforeseen situations and be very comfortable skiing on any terrain (be able to ride a black slope with no difficulty). Your guide, a backcountry skiing professionnal, will find the best freeride descents with the comfort of using the ski lifts up the mountains so you can enjoy every minute of your day!

Practical information
You meet your guide at 8:30 am at the ski lifts of La Grave where you will double check all the equipment together and learn how to use the security equipment.
You will start with a quick warm-up on the slopes of Chancelle and La Meije valleys before riding the remote mountains passes and corridors. Jody will take you on his favorite itineraries, depending on your expectations and the weather conditions.
You will stop mid-day for a snack in the resort before going back to riding down the slopes of La Grave.
Itineraries are defined with Jody depending on your level and expectations for the day.
