Take a raft or mini-raft from Ossès to Bidarray and enjoy a 1? hour descent in the heart of the Basque Country.
Alone, with family or friends, set off to explore the Basque Country and one of its famous rivers in particular: the Nive. The river is 79km long, from Spain to the Adour at Bayonne. Embark on a small section of the river for a 1? hour rafting or mini-raft trip to Bidarray.
A small village in the French Basque Country bordered by two rivers and located less than 30 minutes from Bayonne, Bidarray is recognised by the Natura 2000 network for its splendid flora and the diversity of its easily observed fauna. Aboard your boat and under the watchful eye of your experienced instructor, your 90 minutes of aquatic thrills will be punctuated by activities such as speed challenges, balance jousts and jumps.
For the more experienced sailors, this hour and a half will be an opportunity to learn how to manoeuvre your raft or mini-raft, thanks to the advice of your instructor, who is used to sailing on the Nive.
And for the luckiest among you, rafting on the River Nive from Ossès to Bidarray may allow you to come across pottocks (small local horses), foals or sheep... and don't forget, those who enjoy looking up may also spot vultures or, even rarer, falcons.
Fellow holidaymakers on the Basque coast, what would you say to visiting the lands of New Aquitaine in a sporty, fun and refreshing way? River rafting on the Nive, from Ossès towards Bidarray, is just what you're looking for!
