Your experienced and state certified guide, Patrick Lakatos, will lead you down the river safely and equip you with proper technique all while sharing his passion for flora, fauna and geology – showing you the secrets of the Dordogne Valley by canoe. Along your canoe tour of the Dordogne River there will be many breaks where your guide will teach you about medicinal plants (including which ones you can eat!), nature survival, hidden caves along the river, and anything else you might be interested in. You will be able to jump into the clear waters for a swim and even explore the river banks. This is a canoe tour for nature lovers and the curious!
Departing from Gluges, you will be able to choose a 2 or 3 seater canoe that comes equipped with life vests and 1 waterproof pack per canoe. The canoe tour of the Dordogne River will last a full day, from 9:30 a.m. until around 4:30 p.m., giving you plenty of time to explore and have fun without feeling rushed. The descent of the river is a journey of 10 km/6.2 miles, and at the end you will be shuttled back to the meeting point, arriving around 5:30 p.m.

Practical information
Starting from 9:30 a.m. the 10 km/6.2 mile canoe trip will end around 4:30 p.m., with a break around noon for a picnic lunch. There will also be multiple breaks throughout the journey for swimming, relaxing, and learning about the beautiful natural environment around you from your guide. At the end of the descent you will be shuttled back to the orignal meeting point by 5:30 p.m.
