In addition, you'll learn about the necessary gear and equipment to withstand freezing winter temperatures. After a light meal, you'll put on snowshoes and head out into the snow-covered landscapes of Finnish Lapland. Next, your instructor will show you how to build a 'quinzee' (a traditional snow shelter) by hollowing out a pile of snow before heading back to civilization.

The Overnight 20-hour Arctic Survival workshop welcomes participants ages 16 and up with a maximum capacity of 12 and has similar theoretical portions as the 6-hour option, including a delicious meal. But where it departs is that you'll spend the night in your own snow shelter (with sleeping bags and mats provided)! As you savour the sounds of silence in northern Finland, keep your eyes on the sky. This area is one of the best places to take in the incredible natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights (don't forget your camera)! For everyone's safety, the instructor will monitor the group throughout the night.
