Go caving in the Parc du Trou de la Fée and discover the only protected natural refuge for bats in Quebec!

Join our partner in Desbiens and explore a little-known gem near Lac Saint-Jean: the Parc du Trou de la Fée. This 3km² park lies in the heart of a canyon formed by the Métabetchouane river, about 1 hour's drive from Saguenay. The Trou de la Fée park offers you the chance to discover the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region on land, in the air and even underground!

With this caving activity in the cave of the Trou de la Fée park, you'll have the unique opportunity to discover the only protected natural hibernacula (refuge) for bats in Quebec. During a 30-minute exploration, you'll discover the cavern's 3 chambers, accompanied by a professional guide. The first chamber is rounded, while the second resembles a corridor with a narrow passageway. The third chamber is elongated and much larger than the first two. At its deepest, 68 metres, the temperature is a comfortable 4.5 degrees Celsius.

When you book this caving discovery in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, you also book daily access to the Trou de la Fée park and its immersive experience. After caving at Trou de la Fée, you can explore the park's various hiking trails and suspension bridges. Thanks to the immersive experience, you'll also have a complete overview of the history of the Trou de la Fée park. A busy day awaits you near Lac Saint-Jean! With family or friends, you'll have a great time in the Quebec countryside! Don't forget to pack a picnic and take your time to see everything!
