Hiking excursion to Roca de Chambre in Terceira Island

One of the most famous hiking trails in the Terceira Island is Rocha do Chambre that will take you up to a viewpoint as you wonder on the beauty of the island!

Terceira Island, one of the amazing archipelago of the Azores, might not be as famous as Sao Miguel but it's equally beautiful and offers as much adrenaline and adventure as any other! Terceira offers a variety of trails with unique environments all along the island. Each trail has different characteristics and degrees of difficulty which makes it one of the most exciting activities in the island.

Pristine Azores has chosen the trail that they consider to be the best in the island. The Rocha do Chambre trail goes through the heart of the island allowing you to observe a landscape full of sleeping volcanoes of several dimensions. This trail takes off from Malha Grande, upstream from the village of Biscoitos.

The path then continues through some bridges and a walk next to the watercourse. Then, you'll reach a dirt road that leads to a Japanese cedar wood that leads to the Azinhal Valley. In this area, you'll find a stairway that goes up to 708 m. giving you an amazing view of Biscoito da Ferraria and Pico Alto Protected Area!
