Angel Rock is a popular attraction near Fairbanks, and its unique geology is composed of granite pillars that were once formed from molten magma forced upward from deep beneath the Earth’s layers. These striking rock formations are millions of years old and hiking among them is a great way to connect to the ancient and wild spirit of Alaska!

After departing from Fairbanks, the hiking tour will make its way to the lush and wild Chena River Recreation Area. From there, you will start along the Chena River and then wind your way uphill, climbing 900 feet in elevation to the peak with spectacular views of the valley below, blanketed in greens and gold depending on the season! You will then walk along the ridgeline following Chena Dome Trail for even more fantastic views of the gorgeous landscape around you!

As you hike, your guide will not only make sure to keep you on route so that you can focus on the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness, but they will also teach you about the ecosystem of the Chena River area.
